Growth potential is one of the most important considerations when purchasing a franchise, making Kevin Chin an excellent choice. Noodle vending falls into two high growth categories; vending and noodles, as highlighted by the above graphs, and therefore enjoys excellent growth prospects here in the UK, and is likely to do the same abroad.
Noodles are an extremely popular food, and their popularity is set to grow further. Kevin Chin offers a twist to this already sought after product by offering a full range of noodles that will appeal to every pallet, and that cannot be found in supermarkets. Complete with the comfort of knowing the noodles are made by a major international food manufacturer.
In April 2005 Kevin Chin were approached by Hampshire Police who were keen to have an onsite hot food facility. Unlike colleges Police stations generally don’t have onsite canteens/restaurants. So the machine fitted in nicely in there rest room area next to a cold drinks machine.
Sales from the machine are popular especially within a profession with shifts over 24 hours.
Another station a few miles away also requested a Wall machine for their smaller Station after word got about just a few days after its installation.
The College, which opened in 1964, is the major centre for a wide range of academic, commercial, scientific, technical, recreational and adult education courses in Sussex.
The College approached Kevin Chin in 2004 as they had heard about the 24 hour food service which a noodle machines can offer.
The college has 6000 students, the majority being day students and about 500 residents. With such volume of students the noodle machine would help satisfy everyone's taste with its six different tasty noodle flavours: Chicken, Beef, Pork, Vegetable, Shrimp and the famous secret recipe of spicy HOT Kimchi. The machine also would compliment not hinder the other vending machines in the college, such as fizzy drinks, confectionary, crisps and coffee machines.
With this in mind the college requested three floor machines and one wall machine for their campus. One floor machine being in the main footfall corridor adjacent to the college restaurant, another being in halls of residence, and the third floor machine in their construction and decorating campus. Also the wall machine in a smaller halls of residence.
Since being installed in October 2004 the noodle machines have proved very popular and with their quirky and catchy Kevin Chin branding, satisfying many a student 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The college also runs a long list of evening courses each day of the week. And so Kevin Chin supplies these part time students with a hot snack to enjoy when the restaurant is closed at the end of each day.
